Over a “wild” lifetime exploring the natural world we have put countless pairs of shorts through their paces bushwalking, sailing and cycling. All had features we loved, but none were void of some shortcoming, be it in the features, cut or fabric. Armed with that information, we produced the Wildlife Shorts, a most versatile, comfortable and hard-wearing garment for those who spend their lives outside. Let’s start with the features: they are free from belt loops, instead having a completely flat, partially elasticated belt integrated within the waistband. You set the belt exactly to your size on the left-hand side, and then engage the belt hook every time you put them on. Simple, effective, and completely free from the bulk that makes some shorts uncomfortable under a backpack hip harness.

The front pockets are deep and well proportioned, no more losing items when riding a bicycle or sitting down. Back pockets are covered by a simple, continuous flap along the top of the glutes, preventing debris from falling in when out bush; and the thigh “cargo” pocket is secured by a zipper, for completely secure storage. The fabric has a nice degree of stretch around the upper legs, so does not impede movement, and the seat is generous, so they don’t uncomfortably bunch up when squatting down or driving. A water repellent coating means dirt has trouble sticking, they don’t stain easily, and when drenched (or washed…) they dry quickly. Once you put them on, you won’t want to take them off!
